A USB connection between a computer and a USB device cannot exceed 5 metres in length using normal cables. The Sandberg USB 2.0 Amplifier is an active extension cable that amplifies the signal and extends the USB connection by 5 metres. Simply connect the cable between your computer and the existing USB cable, allowing you to increase the distance up to 10 metres, whether you are using a USB 2.0 Hi-Speed or a USB 1.1 Full- Speed connection. The signal is amplified as soon as the cable is attached to the USB port what could be simpler!
